Core ABSORPTION Layer

A: Acquisition and Distribution Layer (ADL)

It is a sub layer used between the top sheet and the absorbent core. Sometimes used in full length, but mostly preferred as a patch near the target zone where urine is most likely to be deposited. The ADL helps rapidly direct the liquid toward the core matrix after insult, as well as distribute the liquid across the whole core area to maximize core utilization.

B: Cellulose (fluff pulp)

Used in the construction of the pad. Cellulose comes from pine trees, generally obtained from well-managed forests. Fluff is found at the center of the core, in a ratio with SAP(i.e., 50/50 or 30/70). It is typically composed of cellulose from trees and helps with rapid absorption and distribution of fluid.

Super Absorbent Polymer (SAP)

With its abbreviation SAP. It is typically used in fine granular form( like table salt). This polymer is usually combined with fluff to create the core matrix. It helps improve capacity for better retention in a disposable sanitary pad, allowing the product to be thinner with improved performance and less usage of pine fluff pulp.
