Incontinence pads are absorbent pads that help people with incontinence (difficulty controlling bladder or bowel movements). They come in a variety of forms, with the most popular being panty liners that fit over underwear and incontinence pants that can be worn as a panty replacement. ​

How do incontinence pads work? ​
Incontinence pads work like other absorbent items, such as diapers, by absorbing fluids from the body and locking them in to prevent leaks. 

How often do incontinence pads need to be changed? ​
Generally, incontinence pads should be changed every 3-4 hours to keep your skin dry. Some thicker pads have a "wetness indicator" that lets you know if you need to change them sooner. Larger nighttime pads can be worn longer. ​

What are the different types of incontinence pads? ​
There are many different types of incontinence pads, including highly absorbent and less absorbent, designed specifically for men, designed specifically for women, and even pads that can be worn under swimsuits. In terms of usage, there are disposable ones (throw away directly after use, not flushed down the toilet) and reusable ones (washable after use).
