According to customs statistics, in the first half of 2023, the export volume of Chinese paper and sanitary products increased comprehensively. The specific export situation of various products is as following:
Household Paper Export
In the first half of 2023, the export volume and value of household paper increased significantly comparing to same phase in 2022. The total export volume was 495,500 tons, increase of 37.36% and the export value was US $ 1.166 billion, increase of 36.69%. Among them, the export volume of the original paper increased greatly for 63.43%. However, the exported household paper was still mainly finished paper and the export volume of finished paper accounted for 72.6% of the total export volume of household paper products.
Based on export value, in the first half of 2023 finished paper accounted for 82.7%. The unit price of pocket and facial tissue continued to rise, and the exported items developed towards high-end products.
Absorbent Hygienic Products Export
In the first half of 2023, the export of absorbent hygienic products remained a comprehensive growth. The volume, value and average price continued the growth trend in the previous two years.
Baby diapers accounted for 40.5% of the total exports and its growth rate is 31.0% showing that the competitiveness of Chinese baby diapers in overseas markets has increased constantly.
Sanitary napkins got a smaller proportion, but the average price was rising, showing that China’s high -end sanitary napkins have a stable demand from overseas market.
Wet Wipes Export
In the first half of 2023, the total export volume of wet wipes was 254,700 tons, decrease of 4.10%. Export items mainly were cleaning wipes and the volume accounted for 74.5%. The average export price of wet wipes is much lower than the average price of imports, indicating that high -value products such as functional wet towels in China still have much room to expand in overseas markets.
